Graham Steinruck

Director of The Biodiversity Collective, Research Director OPFF - Chef, forager, and mycologist Graham received the prestigious Zagat ‘30 under 30’ award for his dedication to cooking and foraging, and has contributed recipes to the ‘Fantastic Fungi Community Cookbook’ by Eugenia Bone, as well as ‘Wild Mushrooms’ by Trent and Kristen Blizzard. He is one of Colorado state’s certified wild mushroom identification experts and is chef of the Telluride Mushroom Festival Fungi Dinner. He recently founded ‘Biodiversity Collective’, an event company that focuses on fungi education, hands-on learning and travel experiences.

Amy Honan PhD

Professor of Mycology and Fungal Ecology OSU, co-founder Crested Bute Botanic Garden, research coordinator OPFF, Amy received her B.S. in Biochemistry from Western Colorado University in Gunnison, CO where she studied population genetics of the root pathogen Armillaria. She went on to San Francisco State University for her M.S. While there, she studied the saprophytic mushroom genus Tetrapyrgos from SE Asia. She completed her Ph.D. at University of Washington where she studied the ecology, evolution, and biogeography of the stalked puffball Tulostoma. She currently teaches Mycology and Fungal Ecology for Oregon State University. In addition, she is the co-founder of the Crested Butte Botanic Garden in Crested Butte, CO and is the curator of their fungal collection. Her current work involves documenting fungal biodiversity and ecology of Rocky Mountain fungi and understanding heavy metal tolerance in Suillus.

Robert Rogers

Renowned herbalist and author of more then 50 books including "The Fungal Pharmacy" - Robert Dale Rogers B.Sc. RH (AHG), FICN is a professional member of the American Herbalist Guild and Herbal Elder of Canada. He has been an herbalist for fifty years and offered a clinical practice for twenty of them. He taught plant and mushroom medicine for over 26 years at both a College and University, and held the position of assistant clinical professor in family medicine, for a dozen years at the University of Alberta. He was on the editorial board of the International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms and past chair of the Medicinal Mushroom Committee of the North American Mycological Association (NAMA). Robert is the author of over 60 books and 20 peer-reviewed papers, and a Fellow of the International College of Nutrition. He contributes on a regular basis to Fungi magazine.

His most well-known book on mushrooms is The Fungal Pharmacy: The Complete Guide to Medicinal Mushrooms and Lichens of North America, published in 2011.

He is also the author of Mushroom Essences: Vibrational Healing from Kingdom Fungi (2016) and Medicinal Mushrooms: The Human Clinical Trials (2020).

Other recent books include Psilocybin Mushrooms: The Magic, Science and Research (2021), and Health Your Brain Naturally (2018)

William Padilla-Brown

A Multidisciplinary Citizen Scientist practicing social science, mycology, phycology, molecular biology, and additive manufacturing. William founded MycoSymbiotics in 2015, and has since developed it into the innovative practical applied biological science business it is today. He also published the first English-language books on cultivating the cordyceps mushroom and regularly leads courses on their cultivation

Eugenia Bone

Eugenia is an Internationally known food and nature writer whose work has appeared in many anthologies, magazines and newspapers. A faculty member of the New York Botanical Garden, she teaches classes on mycophagy and psychoactive mushrooms. She is the author or coauthor of nine books on food and biology, including MYCOPHILIA, THE FANTASTIC FUNGI COMMUNITY COOKBOOK, and, most recently, HAVE A GOOD TRIP: Exploring the Magic Mushroom Experience. She has been nominated for and received a variety of awards, including a James Beard Award and just recently the Manny Salzman Award. Eugenia is featured in FANTASTIC FUNGI (2019) and in the mushroom episode of Waffles + Mochi on Netflix, produced by Michelle Obama's Higher Ground Productions.

Marc Keith (Roger Rabbit)

Marc’s interest in mushrooms dates to 1971 when he picked up a
hitchhiker in Dallas seeking a ride to east Texas to pick P cubensis. The
hitchhiker, whose name is long forgotten, offered to show Marc his favorite
cow pastures in exchange for the 150-mile round trip. The story is hilarious.
At one pasture, an armed farmer drove his truck across the field to chase off
the hippies. The hitchhiker took off running like his pants were on fire, but
Marc, his belly and brain full of fresh cubensis, had other ideas. The rest of
that story will be told in Marc’s talk on synchronicity.
The next year, 1972, Marc grew his first crop of cubes at home, entirely by
accident. He’s been an avid grower and consumer of all things fungi ever
since. For decades, Marc has shared his knowledge and experiences freely,
hoping to advance the science and art of mushrooms. Until the death of his
wife Vivian in 2014, he operated a USDA certified organic mushroom farm in
WA state.

Marc noticed early in life that dreams and other intuitions can be
lifechanging if one keeps an open mind, free of preconceptions which stifle
the psyche. In the mid-1970s, Marc became active in what was called ‘white
witchcraft’, later to be affiliated with Wicca, where for several years through
the late 1980s, he served as High Priest for a coven with over 150 members.
During this time, he relentlessly researched and began teaching classes on
meditation, alchemy, ESP, and Jungian synchronicity. F ifty years later, the
work continues.

Shane Schoolman

Shane has a passion for cultivation, extraction, education, and mycoremediation, he bridges science and sustainability to empower others in exploring the world of the Fungal Queendom.

Noah Siegel

Noah Siegel's field mycology skills are extensive – he has spent two decades seeking, photographing, identifying, and furthering his knowledge about all aspects of macrofungi. He has hunted for mushrooms throughout the United States and Canada, as well as on multiple expeditions to New Zealand and Australia.
He is one of the premier mushroom photographers in the nation, having won numerous awards from the North American Mycological Association (NAMA) photography contest. His technique and attention to detail are unrivaled, arising from a philosophy of maximizing utility for identification purposes while maintaining a high degree of aesthetic appeal.
His photographs have appeared on the covers and have been featured in articles of multiple issues of FUNGI Magazine and Mushroom the Journal, the primary mushroom enthusiast magazines in the United States, numerous mushroom books, as well as NAMA and other club publications.
He is past president of the Monadnock Mushroomers Unlimited, (MMU) a mushroom club based out of Keene, NH, and is an active member of the Humboldt Bay Mycological Society and the Fungus Federation of Santa Cruz.
Noah travels and lectures extensively across America, following the mushrooms.

Sidnee Ober-Singleton

I grew up in the PNW, and while I always had an interest in fungi, it didn’t develop into a mycological
one until my first year at Lane Community College, where I participated in an undergraduate research
program on myco-remediation. After that sucked me in, I dove headfirst into mycology, continuing
research and education at LCC, and eventually getting a position studying fungus-growing ants at the
University of Oregon. I’ve spent about 7 years undertaking ongoing research and teaching, in both a professional and amateur fashion on a wide range of subjects within the field. I have a special interest in fungal genetics and mating, Morel ecology, fluorescence microscopy, and applied biotechnology to the ends of cultivation, myco-remediation, cellulosics, and use for their diverse metabolites, which includes dyeing! I really love finding new uses for fungi that no one has thought of before.

Jeff Ravage

Jeff Ravage is a Forester and fungal researcher in central Colorado. He began experimenting with the use of wood rotting mushrooms as an agent of ecological restoration in 2014. He also works in realm of carbon markets and contributed to the “Reduced Emissions from Megafires” carbon offset protocol, and others. He raises neotropical aposematic frogs is known to walk right up to trees and smell them.

Eva Gordon
